EPA WaterSenseSM certification services

As an EPA-licensed certifying body, UL is positioned to help you demonstrate that your product meets EPA WaterSenseSM criteria. With the growing demand for environmentally responsible products, UL is continuing its dedication to public safety by helping manufacturers meet the demand for more environmentally responsible products.

Products that have earned the WaterSenseSM certification have been determined to meet EPA's WaterSenseSM program criteria for water efficiency. As an approved certification organization, UL works with manufacturers to help them obtain the WaterSenseSM label for plumbing products that demonstrate at least 20 percent greater efficiency in water utilization.

UL is approved to certify both high-efficiency toilets and high-efficiency lavatory faucets for use in private residences and private restrooms in hotels and hospitals. The UL certification process consists of product testing and annual field inspections to monitor continued compliance.

Additional testing requirements can be found at www.epa.gov/watersense.

Certified products are included on an EPA product registry and bear the WaterSenseSM label. In addition, all products certified by UL are included on this site.
